"Now even Yamato Takeru won't survive this fire!"
The eastern men set fire on the grassy field.
Takeru swings his sword and clears the grasses
"Godly sword, protect me."
He remembers a small pouch which his aunt gave him.
She told him to open this pouch when he faces danger.
"What do you mean, auntie?"
"Fire stone! I got it!"
This is the perfect timing.
He hit two fire stones together, "Fire for Fire!"
He clears the grasses surround him so the fire won't come near.
Then he appears from the fire.
Amazing scene!
"Takeru is killed by the fire…"
"Takeru?"
"Yamato regime is…"
"too strong…"
"Don’t underestimate Yamato Takeru."
"I am with Yamato regime."
Nobody could stop him conquering the eastern territory.
But day,
He is cursed by the god of the mountain.
One day he decides not to bring his sword, Kusanagi no Tsurugi.

In exchange, they built Izumo Taisha dedicated to him.

to govern the land?

The son of Amaterasu was a first candidate.
But her son is having a baby.

He is a high ranking god.
Ninigi wonders,
"I want to find a nice partner."
"I am the great god, Ninigi, grandson of the sun god."
"Ookuninushi is not here anymore."
Actually, he didn't come down to Izumo.
For some reason, he came down to Takachiho, in Miyazaki prefecture.
There is various theories about why there.
He descends to Takachiho.
First he looks for a bride.
"is there anyone for me?"
There happens to be a very cute princess called Sakuya Hime.
"You are very pretty!"
He is very sophisticated, "You are very pretty."
"Would you be my wife?"
She reacts, "You must be a very powerful god."
"I feel your power."
"Of course! If you wish."
"But I have to get a permission from my father first."
"I’ll go ask now."
"Dad, I just met a grandson of Amaterasu. He is a very powerful god."
"He is very noble."
"He wants to marry me. Would you give us s permission?"
Her father is surprised, "Seriously?“
"My daughter for his wife? Oh, how incredible!"
"I made up my mind."
"I have to show my appreciation for Amaterasu."
"Amaterasu, no, Sir. Ninigi,"
"I am so grateful for you. You are a grandson of Amaterasu."

"Mr. Ninigi, I want to make sure you are aware of the curse."

Descendant of Ninigi and Sakuya Hime
is the first emperor Jimmu.

The 12th emperor had a son.
He is the main character in the second volume.
He is the son of the 12th emperor.
The Yamato dynasty is established.
The 12th emperor Keikou had sons
One of them was Yamato Takeru.
Yamato Takeru was not the first son,
Yamato Takeru had an elder brother.
His father, the emperor Keiko, tells him one day,
"There are very beautiful sisters."
"Bring them to me, and I take them as my wives."
When the elder brother sees them, he is impressed by their beauty,
and he decides to keep them as his wives.

He sends his father totally different sisters saying they are the ones.

The next day, emperor Keiko asks Yamato Takeru,

"Have yo seen him?"

Yamto Takeru is too violent.

He reaches to Kyushu.

He hears the music. Kumasoes are having a party.

Yamato Takeru is a handsome man.

He untie his hair and dresses as a woman.
to pretend he is a woman serving sake.
He sneaks into the hall as a woman.
Music is going on,
and Kumaso Takeru is singing loudly, "Kumaso is my land!“
"This sake is good."
"I'm a good singer." He is happy.
"Sake is good, and shochu too!"
"There is a beautiful woman I've never seen before."
"The one serving sake. She is pretty."
"I've never seen her before. Bring her to me. Bring her here."
"She is new here?"
"Go sit besides Mr. Takeru."
"Give this beauty a space next to Kumaso Takeru sama!"
Here comes beauty besides TAKERU
"Girl, this is a honor for you."
"Yes." She sits next to him.
"Are you Takeru?"
"Yes, indeed. I am Kumaso Takeru!"
"What's happening?"
"My name is Yamato Takeru. I am sent by Yamato regime."
"Amazing! Is this how Yamato regime does things?"

Actually, at this time, Yamato Takeru wasn't his name yet,
but Kumaso Takeru asked him to take his name.
So he took Takeru from Kumaso Takeru and changed his name to Yamato Takeru.

"I'd never lose with this sword. Off I go."
He fights many battles with this sword.
There is a famous scene, which he opens the grass field with his sword
when he is surrounded by fire started by the enemy.
"Now even Yamato Takeru won't survive this fire!"
The eastern men set fire on the grassy field.
Takeru swings his sword and clears the grasses
"Godly sword, protect me."
He remembers a small pouch which his aunt gave him.
She told him to open this pouch when he faces danger.
"What do you mean, auntie?"
"Fire stone! I got it!"
This is the perfect timing.
He hit two fire stones together, "Fire for Fire!"
He clears the grasses surround him so the fire won't come near.
Then he appears from the fire.
Amazing scene!
"Takeru is killed by the fire…"
"Takeru?"
"Yamato regime is…"
"too strong…"
"Don’t underestimate Yamato Takeru."
"I am with Yamato regime."
Nobody could stop him conquering the eastern territory.
But day,
He is cursed by the god of the mountain.
One day he decides not to bring his sword, Kusanagi no Tsurugi.
"I don't need it because it would be a small battle."
His wife tells him, "You better bring this sword, Takeru.“
"No, I don't need it. I can win without it."
"It'll be a small battle in a mountain."
Then he sees a big wild boar there.
It’s just like the one in the Mononoke Hime.
Wooooo..
"Are you a messenger from a god of the mountain? "
"I keep you alive for now."
"After I’ve done with this battle,"
"I will kill you."
However, that was a god of the mountain himself, not a messenger.
"What an arrogant human."
"You will know the power of nature."
After this, he faces many natural disasters in the mountain.
"Oh, no, my legs, I can’t move my legs!"
"I didn't expect a rock suddenly fell on me."
"I wonder that wild boar was a god of the mountain?"
"I can't believe I get cursed by the god of the mountain!"
His legs were swollen into three big lumps.
The place where he got three big lumps is called
is called Mie (three layers).
Suddenly familiar
Mie prefecture means three lumps?
It's gloss.
Some says this is the origin of Mie.
"No, I can’t walk anymore."
"Damn, curse of the god of the mountain!"

Yamto Takeru dies.

Yamato Takeru became a big white bird and flew to the heaven.

He conquered many places all over Japan and left many legends.

The Emperor Chuai had a wife.
The next chapter is not about the Emperor Chuai.
The main character of the next chapter is his wife.

"Am I capable to govern a country just because my dad is a legend?"
His wife, the Empress Jingu says to him,
"Of course, you can."
Next moment, something comes over to the Empress Jingu.
Something comes down to her.
The Emperor Chuai asks her, "What just had happened, Empress Jingu?"
Something seems to take over her.
She declares, “I am Amaterasu.“
"A goddess of the sun, Amaterasu?“
"I'll give you an oracle."
"I'll transmit you an oracle through the Empress Jingu.
"Emperor Chuai,"
"I order you to invade Korean peninsula.“
"Invade Shiragi (ancient Korean country)?"
"Yes. Invade Shiragi."
"If you do it, this country will prosper even more."
"What was it?“
"You just spoke an oracle."
"An oracle from Amaterasu."
"That's incredible. What did she say?"
"She told me to invade Shiragi.“
"Let’s do it.“
"No. I am scared," the emperor Chuai says.
"I’m terrified of invading.“
"Moreover, we don't know if the oracle came from real Amaterasu.“
The moment he says that,

and they conquered other countries.

Isn't this fascinating story?
Kojiki is super exciting story.
Nevertheless
why we don’t know this story?
This is
the biggest question of all.
This has to do with our history.

There was a big battle against Izumo,
then surrendering Izumo happened.
But we have never learned about Izumo dynasty.
